I'm finally settling back into the flow of things as I recently returned from trips to Halifax and Quebec City, beautiful spots. Lots of fun with those of course.
This last little while I've been training and meeting for the Skills Canada competitions. PEI was host to the nationals this year which was a very exciting event that I was glad to be a part of. 2 days of intense competition, 12 hours total design time. I didn't take home any medals but I placed 6th, out of the 10 provinces competing in my competition. Beating 2 of them was my goal, but 4 is even better! Team PEI took home 8 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze.
I am still working with Eastern Eyes Photography, and as the summer approaches work will increase. Wedding season is right around the corner! Recently I have also joined the Village Feast board to fill the Print Media position. I am trying to work on a website and the event poster/advertisements. We are organizing another giant meal to support a foreign area in need. Last year's meal was great so I can only imagine what this year's will be.
As for next year's plans, I've been accepted to McKenzie College, a private institute for art and design. I am taking a visual arts foundation program and I will see what happens from there.
Hope everyone is doing well!
